WHAT TO EXPECT

North Stamford Community Church

REOPENING PLAN DETAILS

How Registration Will Work:

Each Monday morning registration will be open for the upcoming Sunday service. We are able to host 20 individual people in our sanctuary. Registration for each service will close once we reach that number.

In order to attend each Sunday service, you will need to register all family members who plan to attend each week.

Registration for Sunday Worship

We will use “text” to notify you of any changes en route to each Sunday. Please be patient with us as we work to follow guidelines and provide a worshipful AND safe experience.

What We Have Done To Prepare

In preparation for those of you who would like to return to in-person services, the following has been done:

PREPARATION - CLEANLINESS

  • The church has been deep-cleaned - pews, door knobs, bathrooms, light switches carpet shampooed, etc. While we cannot provide hospital-level sanitization, we've done our very best for your confidence.

  • The sanctuary will be disinfected before each service and between each service.

  • Doors will be propped open so that you do not have to touch the handles (weather permitting).

GUIDELINES: TO KEEP YOU SAFE

  • Temperatures will be taken upon arrival. If there is a temperature reading of (99+) entry to the service will not be granted.

  • Anyone who has a fever, symptoms of sickness (sore throat or cough), or has been in contact with someone who has had COVID in the last 14 days, please stay home, attending the service will not be granted.

  • Those identified as especially vulnerable to COVID-19 should consider remaining in their vehicles (for outside services) or stay home and utilize the livestream option.

  • Those choosing to participate outside their cars (during the outdoor service) should bring their own chair, hat and sunscreen. A limited number of chairs will be available for those who may need them.

  • Anyone outside their vehicle (for the outdoor service) will be required to wear a face mask.

  • Those leading the service will wear a face mask (when not speaking) and anyone singing will wear a face shield. A limited number of masks will be available for those who may not have one.

  • In the event of rain, the service will go on inside the sanctuary.

  • Wearing of a face mask upon entering the sanctuary and during the entire service will be mandated.

  • All participants must maintain adequate social distancing of at least 6 feet apart. This requirement does not apply to family members of the same household.

  • We will have hand sanitizer everywhere, especially at the entrance, exit and bathroom.

  • We encourage everyone to sanitize hands upon entering and after the service.

  • The bathroom will be available.

  • Individual communion packages (on the 1st Sundays) will be provided upon arrival.

  • Bulletins, handouts, coffee and refreshments will not be distributed.

  • At worship (in the sanctuary) we will have proper spacing between pews. (Families, will sit together)

  • Children’s Ministry will not be offered. Children are to remain in the sanctuary with their families.

  • There will be giving stations at the entrance and exit. The offering baskets will not be passed. We are encouraging everyone to give online.

  • Greeters will wear a mask and gloves for both outdoor and indoor services.

  • Only one person per set of doors (in sanctuary). No handshakes, fist bumps or hugs.

  • We will discontinue meet and greet times in worship and maintain social distancing of 6 feet apart.

  • We will clearly identify sanctuary “entrance” and “exit” doors. We also will not allow entrance in the building more than 15 minutes before services to allow for social distancing. After the service, attendees will be dismissed by sections in smaller groups to prevent “clumping” as you leave.

  • We will keep entrance areas as clear and open as possible

SEATING: SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • To ensure distancing according to CDC guidelines, we have created a seating plan. In the sanctuary there will be helpful visual markers to remind you of the guidelines.

  • Pews will be marked for physical distancing except between family members.
Greeters will be on hand to help seat or answer any questions that you might have regarding where to sit.

Below is a picture of planned seating:
